The Music Library

There has been many times where I have sat down and asked myself what is it that I want to do for a career. Many of these times I have said I wanted to be a recording engineer, but after a few weeks of interning at a studio I quickly realized that is not what I want to do. Being in a studio just was not for me. Then one day I began to think. I brainstormed for a long time. I had the thought of taking all of the music I write and compose and then package them into my very own music library. In order to do this I need to start creating a lot more content and find out more about music libraries. So I did my research and while researching I came across a company called The Music Collective. The Music Collective is a music production company. They offer music services including composition, music supervision, editing and mastering. They also do clearance and licensing to the entire production community. The Music Collective has a large music library with a wide range of different genres including acoustic, funk, pop and many more. Their music library consists of thousands of songs. After looking at their company I realized how I should go about starting my own music library. I am going to need a team, a team in which each individual person specializes in a different genre. They will then go about their day creating content to be stored within the music library. This way we will be able to gather content fast and grow quickly as a company. I suppose this easier said then done. It will be a challenge to find a group of motivated people who are willing to commit. So now it is time to move to the next step and find this group of motivated individuals and start our music library.

  1. Hey P-Towns, that would be a great idea to start your own music library. You do not hear a lot of people talking about doing something like this. Everyone is always just talking about making beats on an individual base. Sounds like your company would be a one stop shop for music, like an instrumental catalog. Would your library be have commercial music in it? What is the difference between a sound library and a music library? I do not want to ask too many questions, I know you are not trying to give away your secret sauce. I look forward to seeing this idea develop. I would love to employ your services in the future also once your music library is up and running.
